Case Study: Altimate Boots
We have recently redesigned www.altimateboots.com. Here are the before and after shots of the site, and a few reasons why we feel that the redesign was an improvement.
BEFORE

AFTER

- the old site was designed as a print brochure with large images, each page having a unique look, and a lot of pop-up windows. This made the site very heavy and it took a long time to load a page.
- now the pages are more compact, the design is "universal" across the site, the number of images have been reduced, and the unnecessary pop-up windows have been eliminated. Well rasterized images, style sheets and include files also allow the site to load quickly.
- the navigation of the site was different for every page, it was very hard to find pages of interest on the site
- now the navigation is "universal" across the entire site, and because of that the user will have no trouble finding a page of interest to him/her.
- the information on the site did not allow for interactivity
- now there are a number of contests and forms on the site, that allow the user to interact with the site owner

Case Study: City Blossoms
We have recently redesigned www.cityblossoms.com. Here are the before and after shots of the site, and a few reasons why we feel that the redesign was an improvement.
BEFORE

AFTER

- the site had only three pages that displayed all the information that the current site has, it took a long time to load a page and the user had to scroll a number of times before getting to the information he/she wanted.
- now the pages are more compact, the flow of information is more intuitive and easy to find, and the user doesn't have to wait for the information to load.
- the navigation of the site was created with heavy images both on top and on the bottom of the page.
- now the navigation is text-based.
- the order form on the site was not secure, and then it lead the user to PayPal
- now all the e-commerce processing goes through PayPal.

Case Study: Snow Goer Magazine Online
We have recently redesigned www.snowgoercanada.com. Here are the before and after shots of the site, and a few reasons why we feel that the redesign was an improvement.
BEFORE

AFTER

- the header was uneven and had lots of unused space.
- now the header is more compact, flows with nav bar and accommodates banner ads.
- the nav bar placed buttons and boxes above the text links.
- the nav bar pushes the boxes to the bottom, leaving clear, simple text links at the top.
- the site's opening image pushed down content and wasted loading time & bandwidth.
- the smaller opening image brings the rest of the content above the fold, loads the page faster, and saves bandwidth.
- the site's most active sections were the forum and news; they were pushed below the fold.
- the forum and news section are much higher and more prominent on the page; also introduced a new section - online classifieds - which was received very well by the users.
- the news section was administered by the webmaster - the content was sent from the editor, and then posted online
.
- the redesign included a secure interface that allowed the editor to publish news content online immediately, from anywhere and without webmaster's involvement.
